Angler

The Angler is one of the five legendary fish in Stardew Valley and requires serious preparation before you attempt to catch it. You must have a fishing level of at least 3 to hook this beast. Head to the river north of Pelican Town, specifically the wooden bridge area north of JojaMart, and cast your line during Fall between 6am and 8pm in any weather. The Angler is extremely difficult to reel in, with erratic and fast movements in the fishing mini-game that will test even the most experienced anglers. Equip your best rod, ideally the Iridium Rod, and use a Trap Bobber to slow the escape rate of the catching bar. Eating food that boosts fishing skill, like Dish o' The Sea or Seafoam Pudding, can make a significant difference. At 900g base sell price, the Angler is valuable, but as a legendary fish it can only be caught once per save file, making it a collector's item rather than a money-making strategy. It is not needed for any Community Center bundles. Many players choose to display the Angler in a fish tank or place it in their home as a trophy. Since it is only available in Fall, plan your attempt carefully and make sure your fishing skill is high enough before the season arrives. If you miss it, you will have to wait until the following year to try again. This is a true test of your fishing abilities in Stardew Valley.
