Alex is a charming and athletic marriage candidate who lives with his grandparents George and Evelyn at 1 River Road in Pelican Town. On the surface, Alex appears to be a simple jock obsessed with becoming a professional gridball player. But beneath that confident exterior lies one of the most emotionally complex backstories in the game, involving an absent father and a mother who passed away when he was young. Alex spends most of his time working out, tossing his gridball around, and hanging out near the beach or the ice cream stand in summer. His initial dialogue can come across as arrogant, but as you build friendship with him, he opens up about his insecurities, his dreams, and his difficult past. His character arc is one of the most rewarding in the game — watching him go from a somewhat self-centered athlete to a thoughtful, caring partner is genuinely touching. His grandparents are central to his story. Evelyn is loving and supportive, while George is grumpy but deeply caring in his own way. Understanding Alex means understanding the family that raised him after his parents were gone. His heart events gradually reveal layers of vulnerability and growth that make investing in his friendship very worthwhile. For befriending Alex early, Complete Breakfast is his easiest loved gift to obtain once you have a kitchen upgrade and the recipe. Salmon Dinner is another option.
