The Blobfish is a quirky deep-sea catch that can only be obtained during the Night Market, which runs from Winter 15 through Winter 17 each year. To catch it, visit the beach during the Night Market and board the submarine, where you can fish in the deep ocean between 5pm and 2am. This gives you a very limited window of just three nights per year, so plan ahead and bring your best equipment. The Blobfish has a moderate to hard difficulty in the fishing mini-game, with unpredictable movement patterns that can catch you off guard. Use a Trap Bobber or Cork Bobber to help keep the bar stable during the catch. At 500g base sell price, the Blobfish is one of the more valuable fish you can catch during the Night Market, and iridium quality specimens can sell for significantly more. It is not required for any Community Center bundles, but it is needed for the fish collection and makes a unique gift or display piece. The Blobfish can also be placed in a Fish Pond on your farm, where it produces valuable items including Pearls once the pond population reaches maximum capacity, making it one of the best fish pond investments in the game. Since you only have three chances per year to catch it, consider dedicating at least one full Night Market evening to submarine fishing. Bring fishing buff food and make sure your tackle is fresh for the best results.
