Gift Strategy
Purple Mushroom is the best option — found on deep mine floors (80+) and from the mushroom cave if you chose that option. Solar Essence drops from Squid Kids and Ghosts in the mines. Void Essence drops from Shadow creatures. Super Cucumber is caught in the ocean at night in Summer and Fall.
Daily Schedule
Found in his tower west of Cindersap Forest from 6am to 11pm. Rarely leaves except for festivals and the Night Market. Accessible once you've entered the Community Center and triggered the initial Wizard cutscene.

The Wizard's events are mysterious and magical. At 4 hearts, he lets you use his cauldron. At higher friendship, he reveals details about the valley's magical history, including hints about his daughter and his estrangement from the Witch.
