Blue Discus

The Blue Discus is a tropical fish exclusive to Ginger Island, found in the river areas of the island. You can catch it any day of the year between 6am and 7pm, since Ginger Island has its own tropical climate independent of the mainland seasons. Cast your line in the river that runs through the island's jungle area for the best results. The Blue Discus has a relatively easy difficulty in the fishing mini-game, with slow and predictable movements that most players should be able to handle without much trouble. Basic tackle will work fine, though a Cork Bobber never hurts. At 80g base sell price, this fish is not particularly valuable, but it is a necessary addition to your fish collection if you are aiming for completion. It is not required for any Community Center bundles. The Blue Discus can be used in several cooking recipes including Fish Stew, Sashimi, and Maki Roll. Since you need to unlock Ginger Island first by repairing Willy's boat for 200 Hardwood, 5 Battery Packs, and 5 Iridium Bars, you will not encounter this fish until later in the game. Once you have island access, the Blue Discus is a relaxing catch that pairs well with a day of exploring the island. Consider keeping a few for cooking and selling the rest. It also works in a Fish Pond if you want to farm it on your property.
