How to Catch Clam

The Clam is not technically caught with a fishing rod but rather foraged from the beach. You can find Clams washed up on the sandy shore south of Pelican Town during any season and in any weather. They appear as small shells on the ground that you can simply pick up by walking over them. No fishing skill is required, making this one of the most accessible items in the fish collection. Since there is no fishing mini-game involved, there is no difficulty to worry about. At 50g base sell price, the Clam has modest value on its own, but it is required for the Crab Pot Bundle in the Community Center's Fish Tank, so make sure to save at least one before selling the rest. Clams are also useful for crafting Speed-Gro fertilizer when combined with other ingredients. You can use Clams in recipes like Sashimi, Maki Roll, and Quality Fertilizer. The beach is the most reliable spot to find them, especially after storms when more forageables tend to appear. Check the beach regularly during your daily rounds, particularly the areas near the tide pools and along the western shore. Clams can also occasionally be found on Ginger Island beaches once you unlock that area. While not exciting, the Clam is a reliable resource that serves multiple purposes in your farm life. Keep a small stockpile for cooking and bundle completion.
