How to Catch Ice Pip

The Ice Pip is a rare cave fish found exclusively on floor 60 of the Mines, in the icy underground lake that appears on that level. You can catch it at any time of day, in any season, and regardless of weather, since the Mines operate independently of surface conditions. Take the elevator to floor 60 and look for the body of water where you can cast your line. The Ice Pip has a hard difficulty in the fishing mini-game, with quick and erratic movements that make it a genuine challenge to reel in. Use a Trap Bobber to help keep the catching bar connected, and consider eating fishing buff food to increase your bar size. At 500g base sell price, the Ice Pip is one of the most valuable non-legendary fish in the game, making it an excellent income source if you can catch it consistently. It is not required for any Community Center bundles, so you are free to sell every one you catch for pure profit. The Ice Pip can be used in Sashimi, Maki Roll, and Quality Fertilizer recipes, but given its high sell value, selling it raw is usually the better financial move. The Ice Pip is also a great fish to place in a Fish Pond, where it produces Iron Ore, Frozen Geodes, and Frozen Tears at higher population levels. Since floor 60 is always accessible once you reach it, you can farm Ice Pips whenever you want. Combine fishing trips with mining runs to make efficient use of your time in the Mines.
