Fish Tank

The Fish Tank room is all about fishing, and completing it removes the Glittering Boulder next to the Mines, unlocking the copper pan for panning ore, gems, and other items from shimmering spots in the water. While panning is not the most game-changing reward, the Fish Tank is still important for overall Community Center completion. This room has six bundles covering river, lake, ocean, night, crab pot, and specialty fish. The biggest challenge is that many fish are season-locked and time-locked, so missing one can mean waiting a full year. The single best piece of advice: keep a checklist and fish actively in every season. The River Fish Bundle includes Catfish, which only appears in Spring and Fall during rainy days — and it does not rain in Winter, so you have limited windows. Tiger Trout is a Fall and Winter river fish that can also be easy to overlook. The Lake Fish Bundle is relatively forgiving, but Sturgeon (Summer and Winter in the mountain lake) is the trickiest catch there. The Ocean Fish Bundle requires Red Snapper (Fall, rainy days in Summer) and Tilapia (Summer and Fall). The Night Fishing Bundle needs Walleye (Fall, rainy nights), Bream (easy, available at night year-round), and Eel (Spring and Fall, rainy evenings). Pay special attention to rainy Fall days — that is when you can catch Walleye, Catfish, and Eel all in one evening. The Crab Pot Bundle requires ten different crab pot creatures. Place crab pots in both freshwater (river, lake, pond) and saltwater (ocean) since the creatures differ by location. You only need five of the ten items to complete this bundle, which makes it much more forgiving. The Specialty Fish Bundle is the hardest: Pufferfish (Summer ocean, sunny days, 12pm-4pm), Ghostfish (mines floors 20-60), Sandfish (Desert), and Woodskip (Secret Woods pond). You only need two of the four, so aim for Ghostfish and Woodskip, which are the easiest to access early on. Level up your fishing skill and use tackle to make difficult catches more manageable.
